Sangeeta Amin, M.D.

William R. Beam, M.D.

Dr. Beam has been a member of HIMG since 1994. Paul M. Blake, III

Dr. Blake, who joined the HIMG group in September, 2002 is HIMG’s first hospitalist. His pre-medical education was completed at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV followed by receipt of his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine. Post-graduate residency training was completed at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Chattanooga. Dr. Blake is board eligible in the specialty of internal medicine.

Ronald L. Brownfield, D.O.
Specialty: Family Practice

Dr. Brownfield earned a B.S. degree from Marshall University, Huntington, WV in 1981. He continued his education at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia where he received his D.O. degree in 1985. Internship and residency programs were completed at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus, OH in 1988. Dr. Brownfield is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and has been a member of the HIMG group since 1997.

Gregory A. Carico, M.D.

A native of Wayne, WV, Dr. Carico joined the group in 1996. Education credits include a B.S. degree from West Virginia University School of Engineering, Morgantown, WV in 1980 and receipt of his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in 1980. Dr. Carico completed the Family Practice Residency Program at Marshall University School of Medicine in 1992 followed by a Rural Medicine Fellowship also with Marshall University School of Medicine. Dr. Carico is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

Linda G. Carr, M.D.
Specialty: Diagnostic Radiology

Dr. Carr joined HIMG in1991. She received her B.A degree from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC in 1971 and her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV in 1976. Postgraduate training includes Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Walter Reed Medical Center, Washington, DC 1977; Diagnostic Radiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN 1976-1980. Dr. Carr is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Denise E. Clay, M.D.
Specialty: Internal Medicine

Dr. Clay returns to the Huntington area from Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she practiced as an Emergency Room physician. A 1983 graduate of Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington, West Virginia, she completed her family practice internship at Marshall University School of Medicine as well as internal medicine residency. Dr. Clay is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Clay’s practice focuses on but is not limited to women’s health issues.

Shawn W. Coffman, M.D.

Dr. Coffman, a West Virginia native earned his B.A. degree from West Virginia University in 1983. He earned his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington, WV in 1987. Internship and residency training was completed at the Charleston Area Medical Center, West Virginia University Division from 1987 - 1990. Dr. Coffman joined the group in 1992.

Polley H. Cunningham, M.D.

Dr. Cunningham received a B.S. Degree with honors from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC in 1970. Her medical degree was awarded in 1974 from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV. Postgraduate training includes internship at University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA 1974-1975, followed by internal medicine residency 1975-1977 and a rheumatology fellowship 1977-1979. She is board certified by the American Board of Medicine in the subspecialty of Rheumatology. Dr. Cunningham along with her husband, Dr. William Cunningham (gastroenterologist), joined HIMG in 1979.

William N. Cunningham, M.D.
Specialty: Gastroenterology

Dr. Cunningham received his A.B. degree from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ in 1970. His medical degree was awarded in 1974 from West Virginia School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV. Postgraduate training includes internship at University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA 1974-1975, followed by his internal medicine residency 1975-1977 and a gastroenterology fellowship 1977-1979. He is board certified by the American Board of Medicine in the subspecialty of gastroenterology. Dr. Cunningham along with his wife, Dr. Polley Cunningham (rheumatologist), joined HIMG in 1979.

Timothy A. Damron, M.D.
Specialty: Cardiology

Dr. Damron, a West Virginia native graduated magna cum laude from Marshall University, Huntington, WV in 1981, followed by completion of his medical degree from Marshall University in 1986. He interned at Marshall University School of Medicine, and completed an internal medicine residency at the university in 1989 where he served as chief resident. He continued with the university to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine and invasive cardiology. Dr. Damron is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of cardiovascular disease and has been a member of HIMG since 1992.

J. David Daniels, M.D.
Specialty: Medical Oncology

Dr. Daniels joined HIMG in 1978. Dr. Daniels received his B.S. degree from Marshall University, Huntington, WV in 1962. He received his medical degree in 1966 from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, VA, where he also interned. His residency program was completed at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH in 1969 and was followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship also at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Daniels is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of medical oncology. He also serves as the Medical Director of Hospice of Huntington.

Thomas E. Dannals, M.D.
Specialty: Family Practice

Dr. Dannals is a 1980 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD followed by receipt of his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, NY in 1980. Postgraduate training includes the family practice residency program at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, New York from 1984 through 1987. Dr. Dannals is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and has been a member of HIMG since 1991.

William B. Dennison, M.D.
Specialty: Rheumatology

Dr. Dennison attended and graduated from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC in 1975. He continued his education at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV where he graduated magna cum laude in 1978, followed by receipt of his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1983. His internship was completed at the University of Kentucky Medical Center at Lexington, KY in 1984; his internal medicine residency at University of Kentucky Medical Center was completed in 1986 followed by completion of a rheumatology fellowship at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC in 1988. William J. Echols, M.D.
Specialty: Cardiology

Dr. Echols has been a member of HIMG since 1978. He received a B.S. degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College, in 1960 and his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1964. He interned at the University of Iowa and completed a residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 1968. Dr. Echols is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

James C. Goetz, M.D.
Specialty: Internal Medicine

Dr. Goetz attended the University of Toledo in Toledo, OH where he graduated in 1986. He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo in 1990 where he completed internship and internal medicine residency programs in 1993. Dr. Goetz is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been with HIMG since 1993.

Tucker G. Jennings, M.D.
Specialty: General Surgery

Dr. Jennings joined HIMG in 2001. Upon completion of his premedical education at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH in 1991, he entered West Virginia University School of Medicine at Morgantown, WV where he received his medical degree in 1996. Postgraduate training as a general surgery resident was completed at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV in June 2001.

William M. Jennings III, M.D.
Specialty: Endocrinology

Dr. Jennings attended Defiance College in Defiance, OH where he earned a B.S. degree in 1961 followed by attendance at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV where he received a M.S. degree in 1963. His medical degree was received from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA in 1967. Postgraduate studies include internship at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI 1967-1968; internal medicine residency also at Henry Ford Hospital, 1968-1971, followed by an endocrinology fellowship at University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA 1973-1975. Dr. Jennings military service includes Chief of Medicine at the USA Naval Hospital in Taipel, Taiwan from 1971 through 1973. Dr. Jennings is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been a partner with HIMG since 1975. Dr. Jennings also serves as medical director of St. Mary's Medical Cener Joslin Diabetes Center.

Raed Jitan, M.D.

Dr. Jitan, one of the newest members of HIMG joined the HIMG group in May 2002. He graduated from Jordan University College of Science, Amman, Jordan in 1976. Dr. Jitan continued his studies at Jordan University School of Medicine where he received his medical degree in 1981. Post-graduate training includes residency from 1991-1994 at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV followed by a cardiology fellowship, also completed at Marshall University School of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Jitan is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certification in cardiovascular disease. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and the West Virginia Medical Association. Dr. Jitan has returned to the Huntington area after being in private practice in Columbia, SC.

Joseph B. Justice, D.O.
Specialty: Family Practice

Prior to joining HIMG in 2001, Dr. Justice was a teacher of general science, chemistry and physics at Harts High School in Lincoln County, WV. He re-entered school to complete his medical education at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine at Lewisburg, WV in 1994. Family practice residency program was completed through West Virginia University School of Medicine at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV in 1997. Dr. Justice is certified by the American Academy of Family Practice.

Ravindra Kashyap, M.D.

Dr. Kashyap graduated from MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur, India. Post-graduate training includes residency at Edgewater Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois followed by a pulmonary/critical care fellowship at University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Kashyap is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certification in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. He also holds certification with the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society and American Professional Sleep Society.

Gerrit A. Kimmey, M.D.

Dr. Kimmey joined HIMG in 1984. Dr. Kimmey attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC where he received a B.S. degree in 1975 followed by a medical degree from South Carolina College of Medicine, Charleston, SC in 1979. While there he was elected to the Medical Honor Society of Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed internal medicine internship and residency programs at Virginia Commonwealth University for the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA in 1982 followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Kimmey is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of medical oncology.

Myron A. Lewis, M.D.
Specialty: Family Practice

Dr. Lewis graduated summa cum laude from Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC in 1990. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV in 1994. During his residency program at Kanawha Valley Family Practice, the 4th year medical students nominated him as family medicine resident of the year. He is certified by the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Lewis has been with HIMG since 1997.

George J. Linsenmeyer III, M.D.
Specialty: Cardiology

Dr. Linsenmeyer joined HIMG 1997 to return to his hometown of Huntington, WV. Dr. Linsenmeyer received a B.S. degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1973. His medical degree was received from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV in 1977. He interned at St. Louis University Group Hospitals, St. Louis, MO 1977-1978 and completed the residency program at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV in 1980 followed by completion of a cardiology fellowship in 1982 at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Linsenmeyer is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of cardiovascular disease.

Joseph A. LoCascio III, M.D.
Specialty: Ophthalmology

Dr. LoCascio completed his medical school training at the University of Virginia in 1975.  He then did his Internship at St. Mary’s Hospital in Connecticut (Yale Affiliate) in Internal Medicine. He went on to a Fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at Albany Medical Center Hospital, followed by his 3-year Residency at Albany Medical Center in Ophthalmology.  From there he did his second Fellowship, a Clinical and Research Fellowship in corneal and external disease, at Duke University Eye Center from 1980-1982.  He was Board Certified in 1982.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He has membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the AMA, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.  He is Past President of the Duke University Eye  Center Alumni Association, WV Academy of Ophthalmology, The Cabell County Medical Society, and the Board of Trustees of River Park Hospital.  He continues his involvement as a counselor for the WV Academy of Ophthalmology to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is the WV ophthalmology representative to the Carrier Advisory Committee to Medicare.  He is a member of the Cabell County Board of Health and is on the  Board of Directors of Valley Health Systems, as well as the team ophthalmologist for the Marshall University football team for the past 10 years.  Dr. LoCascio has been affiliated with HIMG since 1997.   He is the Medical and Surgical Director of Center for Sight of Ultimate Health Services.

Richard J. Mailloux, M.D.
Specialty: Gastroenterology

Dr. Mailloux attended Virginia Tech where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1985. Medical degree was received from UMDNJ - Rutgers Medical School in 1989. Internal medicine residency program was completed in 1992 at the Medical College of Virginia followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Chicago, which he completed in 1995. Dr. Mailloux joined HIMG in 1995. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of gastroenterology.

Sandra Echols Marshall, M.D.
Specialty: Dermatology

Dr. Marshall graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC in 1985. She returned to her hometown to receive her medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in 1989. She then entered the dermatology residency program at Wright State University in Dayton, OH where she was chief resident during the period of 1992-1993. Her father, William Echols, M.D., Cardiologist, one of Huntington Internal Medicine Group's founding fathers, inspired Dr. Marshall's career path. Dr. Marshall has been with HIMG since 1993.

Kirt T. Miller, D.P.M.
Specialty: Podiatry

Dr. Miller completed his undergraduate education at Indiana University in Indiana, Pennsylvania in 1993. He is a 1997 graduate of Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Primary podiatric medicine residency programs was completed at the VA Medical Center, Huntington, WV and a podiatric surgical residency program was completed in 2000 at the Huntington Podiatric Clinic in Huntington, WV. Dr. Miller joined the HIMG group in September 2001.

James H. Morgan III, M.D.
Specialty: General Surgery

Dr. Morgan, a Huntington native received his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in 1988. Postgraduate training included chief resident at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1992 through 1993 and continued with a fellowship, which he completed in 1993. He is a member of the Society of Breast Surgeons, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and certified with the American Board of Surgery.

Bradley Nine , M.D.
Specialty: In-patient Medicine

Dr. Nine joined the HIMG team in November 2002 to enhance the group’s hospitalist team. Dr. Nine is a 1984 graduate of West Virginia University at Morgantown, WV. He received his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine at Huntington, WV in 1988. Post-graduate training included internship (1988-1989) at Marshall University School of Medicine, followed by residency training (1989-1991) at WVU-Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV. Dr. Nine is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and the National Association of Inpatient Physicians.

Peter Ottaviano, D.O.
Specialty: Pulmonary Disease

A graduate of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Ottaviano joined HIMG in 1993. A Huntington native he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Marshall University School of Medicine affiliated hospitals. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.

David L. Patick, M.D.
Specialty: Internal Medicine

Dr. Patick received a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill univerity in Montreal, Canada; and, a Masters in Public Health from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1976. He continued his education at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and received his medical degree in 1981. His Residency in Internal Medicine was completed in 1984 in Memphis at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences. Dr. Patick is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been a group member since 1984. He is also a member of both the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.

Dev R. Rellan, M.D.
Specialty: Nephrology

Dr. Rellan earned his medical degree at the Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. Dr. Rellan has received extensive training in the United States and Britain. Dr. Rellan fellowed in Nephrology at Rochester General Hospital and University of Rochester School of Medicine. In addition to his appointments he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Assistant Chief at the Albany Medical College. Dr. Rellan has been with HIMG since 1973

Tim D. Robarts, M.D.
Specialty: General Surgery

A graduate of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Robarts received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency at Marshall University School of Medicine and was a practice partner with University Physicians and Surgeons until joining Huntington Internal Medicine Group in July 1999. Dr. Robarts is certified by the American Board of Surgery and holds membership with the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Congress.

Matthew A. Rohrbach, M.D.
Specialty: Gastroenterology

Dr. Rohrbach graduated from Marshall University School of Medicine in 1984. His postgraduate training included internship at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, residency at University of Kentucky and Gastroenterology Fellowship at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialties of internal medicine and Gastro-enterology. Dr. Rohrbach along with his spouse, Dr. Vera Rose joined HIMG in 1990.

Stephen L. Sebert, M.D.

Dr. Sebert, is one of the newest members of the HIMG team, having joined the group December 1, 2002. He graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV in 1973. Dr. Sebert continued his studies at West Virginia University School of Medicine where he received his medical degree in 1977. Post-graduate training includes residency at Charleston Area Medical Center, which he completed in 1980. Board certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Sebert has received national recognition by the organizations of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, as well as, THE BEST DOCTORS IN AMERICA. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, WV Chapter American Academy Family Physicians and the WV State Medical Association.

Stephen C. Smith, M.D.
Specialty: Internal Medicine

Dr. Smith received his doctorate at Marshall University School of Medicine as a member of the first class in 1981 where he received the UpJohn Achievement Award. He performed his postgraduate training at the University of Wisconsin and is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Smith joined our group in July 1999.

T. Donald Summerville, M.D.
Specialty: Urgent Care Center

Dr. Sommerville is a 1989 graduate of West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, West Virginia. Postgraduate residency training was completed at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, West Virginia. Dr. Sommerville is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

C. Dewayne Tackett, M.D.

Dr. Tackett is a Kentucky native earning his doctorate at the Marshall University. He performed his postgraduate training at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Tackett is certified with the American Board of Family Practice and has been with HIMG since 1995.

Terrence W. Triplett, M.D.
Specialty: Family Practice

Dr. Triplett received his medical degree from Marshall University in 1986. Dr. Triplett performed his residency at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro North Carolina from 1986 through 1989. This physician has been with HIMG since 1989.

Charles E. Turner, M.D.
Specialty: Gastroenterology

A native of the Huntington area, Dr. Turner is a founding member of HIMG. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1963 from the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester, NY. Board certifications include the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Gastroenterology. Prior appointments include Chief of Medicine for St. Mary's Medical Center 1973 through 1982, President of the West Virginia State Medical Association and President of the Cabell County Medical Society.

Robert E. Turner, M.D.
Specialty: Family Practice

A native of Huntington, Dr. Turner attended local schools, graduated cum laude from West Virginia University and received his doctorate at Marshall University School of Medicine as a member of the first class in 1981. He performed his Family Practice residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine from 1981 to 1984. He has served as Chief of Family Practice at St. Mary's Medical Center and Cabell Huntington Hospital and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Turner has been in practice with HIMG since 1987.

Harry K. Tweel, M.D.
Specialty: Pulmonary Disease

Dr. Tweel completed his internship and residency at the Charity Hospital of Louisiana in New Orleans, LA. Previous appointments include, Instructor in Medicine at Tulane University of Medicine, Tulane, LA and a Research Fellowship in the Department of Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases also at Tulane University of Medicine. Dr. Tweel has been affiliated with HIMG since 1979.

Mark J. Zawodniak, M.D.
Specialty: Internal Medicine

Dr. Zawodniak joined HIMG in 2000. After graduating magna cum laude from Loyola University, Chicago, IL in 1975, he continued his education at Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine at the University of Chicago where he graduated in 1980. Postgraduate training programs were at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine from 1980-1983. Prior to joining HIMG, Dr. Zawodniak was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Marshall University School of Medicine.
